The quiet luxury checklist for jewelry brands

Twelve decisions that separate a jewelry brand people trust from one they scroll past. The full checklist is for newsletter readers.

Strands of white pearls on a pale surface

Jewelry is bought on trust before it is bought on taste. Customers cannot touch the piece online, so every other detail has to reassure them.

After working with several jewelry founders, we keep coming back to the same short list of decisions. Here are the first four, with the rest below for newsletter readers.

  1. A wordmark before a symbol. New brands need their name remembered first.
  2. One warm neutral. Stark white feels clinical next to gold and pearl.
  3. Natural light only. Studio flash flattens pearls and makes gold look plated.
  4. Show the hand. Scale is the question every buyer asks.
